last call
you truly didn't get through the wire unscratched.
pour some progressive intoxicants on your hair.
strange moons do prevail, hear their
sad stories on E television; the carnival barker
calls us by our right names, he knows
which burrow claims us. Step right on up,
speak persuasive, keep your gun holstered
at all times if possible. last call, my children,
last call for the broken down to straighten new
through buck and wing. The guardian angel
is hobbling around outside. Hear him sidestep
the dead ever so careful. They hire those
guadian angels for their ability to weave in
and out of all situations with poise. Are you
calling me in the dark? Is your hand able to
hold onto the railing? Let me give you the
number of my cell. Its the one halfway down
the hall.
